As a key part of our Lancashire community we’re still transforming the way we work. We are continuing our exciting journey and reshaping our approach and response to local government reform to build new, sustainable and affordable service delivery models.  We’re now looking for an inspiring leader to lead our Finance Function and help forge the shape of our shared service which operates across two top local authorities.

This is a fantastic challenge. We need your help to help successfully navigate the uncertainties of local government funding whilst balancing our finances, develop innovative income generating solutions and manage a number of major projects to improve services, increase resident opportunities and ensure that our communities and stakeholders are at the heart of everything we do. You will inherit and lead a brilliant and capable team. You’ll grow our Shared Service offering as well as steering a broad portfolio of projects and programmes that vary from shopping centre investment to the renovation of historic halls and the creation of major new development sites. Our ambition is to continue to make Chorley and South Ribble places that people are both proud to live and work in.

As our lead finance professional, you will be able to demonstrate strong commercial and financial acumen and the ability to support and build teams. A core aspect of our continuing success will be our ability to develop strong collaborative partnerships and secure the confidence of our broad stakeholder community. You will be able to show a real passion and affinity with our values coupled with strong technical and communication skills. You will need to be a member of CIPFA or CCAB equivalent and significant experience of leading a finance team coupled with an understanding of local government and an ambition to deliver best in class public services.
