The council is pursuing a far-reaching transformation agenda that better meets the needs of our community so it is an exciting time to join us.

This will be a critical project to ensure a smooth transition and change in how we deliver the service from a current contracted service. The post will lead and shape the service processes and procedures, including working with contractors and internal teams to ensure we deliver a quality cemeteries service through the changes.

As part of ensuring the cemeteries are sustainable in the future, provide sufficient space to meet demand and provide a range of options for resident, the post will lead on a number of schemes to increase the burial space and memorial options in our cemeteries and scope the options for the future development.

A project management qualification is not essential but it is expected that the person would have managed similar projects of size and scale that includes IT system changes, capital and revenue expenditure, working with remote teams and contractors.

You will need creative and able to carry out research and analyse data and trends, to establish good practice and income maximise opportunities.

Communication is essential to the post and it will be essential to be able to write and speak at different technical levels and be able to adjust your response to the appropriate audience. You will work with community interest groups, faith leaders, finance and procurement teams and contractors, of which some will have conflicting objectives that you will need to manage.

Most important to the role is being able to manage your time and project outcomes, producing timely, evidence based reports and plans.
