The Role:

Working alongside procurement colleagues, you will be part of a developing team that provides technical advice on procurement projects for RBKC, as well as support throughout the governance process. You will promote strong co-ordination and technical consistency across your designated portfolio, while identifying and supporting delivery of cross-cutting and strategic procurement opportunities. Our goal is to deliver procurement that combines value for money with social value. We therefore expect you to think beyond transactions to innovate strategically and contribute to planning for growth and change.

About You:

We’re looking for a technically competent professional who lives and breathes the procurement process. Qualified to CIPS Level 4 or equivalent, you have experience of delivering complex OJEU procurement projects, coupled with a deep understanding of complex policy issues. Equally important is a values-led approach to your work, including a commitment to reflecting the priorities of the local community. Sound negotiating and influencing skills will be matched by a focus on collaborative working.

We work in partnership with Hampshire County Council (HCC) who deliver many transactional services on our behalf. Although most communications will be from HCC, all selection and appointment decisions will be made by RBKC. Certain services are shared across more than one Council area to nearby neighbouring Authorities. This enhances delivery and reduces costs. Your recruitment information will advise if your remit extends beyond RBKC.
