As a Project Officer within the Richmond and Wandsworth Partnerships Team you would need to able to work on a number of demanding projects at the same time; all different, frequently each with its own project manager giving you direction and working across a wide variety of stakeholders. Very often the projects will be in areas where you have no knowledge, but you are expected to quickly learn so that you can advise others on the subject. Could you rise to these challenges?
This role offers you close working with the two councils’ partners, including residents, other public sector services and businesses, as well as across all council departments. The Partnerships Team brings a common dialogue across these groups to ensure that we offer our residents and businesses ambitious, efficient and joined up services. You will support colleagues to develop new working or funding systems with our partners. Tasks will include interpreting and guiding on legislation, seeking and supporting funding opportunities and supporting large events which bring people together to determine a direction in an area of work.
You need to be able to work confidently alongside councillors and senior officer to be able to provide them with advice on key issues and how they affect our residents and our stakeholders.
A significant focus of this role will be how we bring more external funding into the two councils and to our partners to meet the needs of the local community.
You will support the delivery of a number of initiatives and sometimes lead new projects. At times, you will provide project support across the wider Community and Partnerships division.
Ideally you will have some knowledge of how funding bids are structured and negotiated across a number of stakeholders, and it would be beneficial to have knowledge of how a local authority works. You will have strong analytical skills and be able to quickly write clear reports. You will also have experience of presenting proposals to senior colleagues. You will be a confident communicator both with individuals and with groups.
