An exciting temporary opportunity has arisen for a full-time Social Care Manager/Social Worker within the Intensive Support Service, Adult Social Care. This is a fixed term post ending 1 August 2021.

The Intensive Support Service is a committed, friendly and forward-thinking social work team. Working as part of the One Team alongside a reablement service and 2 health partner teams to provide a short term intensive assessment and reablement service. 

In the role of Social Worker, you will be working as part of the team supporting a wide variety of customers. Your work will involve strength based conversations with people in the community, thinking creatively and flexibly to work with them to meet their identified goals. The team aims to promote the “Prevent, Reduce and Delay” agenda (as outlined in the Care Act 2014) and supports people to develop and maintain independence and confidence within their own home and local community.

As part of the role, you will liaise with a wide variety of professionals within the statutory, voluntary and community sectors and will also be expected to work within a duty system. You will be expected to manage your own workload and handle a rapidly changing case load, hence good organisational skills are required.

A professional qualification in Social Work is essential along with relevant experience of working with adults, strong communication skills and an enthusiasm for working in a multidisciplinary way to achieve the best individual outcomes for people.

As this role is public facing, applicants will need to demonstrate, at interview, their competency to converse and provide advice and guidance to members of the public, in spoken English to CEFR level C1: Can express him/herself fluently and spontaneously, almost effortlessly. Only a conceptually difficult subject can hinder a natural, smooth flow of language.
