This is an opportunity for a Head of Pensions with experience of the Local Government Pension Scheme to join us. Working to the Assistant Director of Finance you will be responsible for the delivery of a high quality service covering Pension administration and Pensioner Payroll for the Local Government Pension Scheme and Pension administration for the NHS Pension Scheme and the Teacher's Pension Agency. You will also be responsible for delivering key strategic projects. The successful applicant will manage the Pension and Reconciliation Service and will work to continuously build improvements into the service for all stakeholders.

Who we are looking for:

We are keen to hear from experienced pension professionals with a can do attitude, highly motivated to provide an excellent and proactive service in line with operational deadlines. You will have a keen interest in looking at opportunities to change processes and develop systems and people. Key to this role will be your strong interpersonal and communication skills to direct change and then make it work on an on-going basis.

It is essential that you have in-depth knowledge and understanding of the LGPS and that you are able to provide clear professional information and guidance to scheme stakeholders. Knowledge of the NHS and teacher's pension schemes is desirable but not essential. You will have proven experience in managing staff and overseeing staff performance.

You will need to possess excellent communication skills, effective time management skills, be able to work under pressure, display excellent attention to detail and demonstrate an understanding of data protection and the importance of maintaining confidentiality.
