Northamptonshire has a lot to offer – a great history, thriving industries, key attractions and England’s largest market town. And with excellent transport links, we’re also an easily accessible place, situated right in the heart of England. We’re proud of our heritage, but we’re really excited about tomorrow. Join us as Executive Director for Place, Economy & Environment and you’ll enjoy a unique opportunity to shape the future of the new Council and West Northamptonshire.

You’ll be the strategic lead on a number of key priorities that are set to change our world for the better. For example, we want our area to be cleaner and greener, so you’ll be our climate change champion, promoting sustainability. But we also need to balance that with our ambition for growth, regeneration opportunities, economic development and the adoption of innovative delivery models to make West Northamptonshire a great place to live, work and get on.

Part of our senior leadership team, you’ll be a valued adviser, a skilled negotiator and a force for change, driving corporate and change projects. They include creating our Place-Shaping vision and plan for place services; maximising commercial opportunities; commissioning high-value contracts; and managing strategic links with partners.

To meet these challenges, you will be an experienced place professional with experience of delivering opportunities for commercial and regeneration development. A strong negotiator, you can secure investment in growth and infrastructure, and manage large, complex contracts. You also know how to blend commercial acumen with a public sector ethos to benefit communities. An exceptional communicator, you can influence at all levels and inspire confidence.

You’ll join us at an exciting time, as we create two brand-new large unitary councils for the North and West of Northamptonshire. While we’re going to operate independently from one another, we’re also going to work in harmony. After all, we want the same thing – for our residents and communities to thrive. We’ve got the chance to be bold, creative and do things differently. Join us.
