The Post

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person to join Brent’s Governance Team. This is a great opportunity to work with councillors, senior officers, partners and our residents at the heart of the Council’s decision making process.

Able to demonstrate an understanding of the local democratic process with experience of administering meetings, you will be responsible for managing a wide range of bodies, including those where the public play an active role. The job involves advising and working closely with elected councillors and senior officers.

The Person

We are looking for someone with a positive attitude and passion for excellent service who is well organised, calm under pressure and able to work independently on their own initiative. Responsible for a busy and varied workload, you will need experience in managing meetings along with excellent communication, IT and team working skills. Working as part of a small but talented and friendly team, you will also need the ability to work flexibly, adapt to changing priorities and meet tight deadlines with an attention to detail and innovative approach to service delivery.

Please note: The postholder would normally be based at Brent Civic Centre, Wembley but the team are currently working flexibly from home as a result of the current Covid-19 pandemic, with ongoing flexibility regarding working from home.
