The Role

We have a fabulous opportunity to join our expanding Housing Development team delivering a pipeline of 1,000+ homes for Wandsworth people.

Reporting to one of our experienced Project Managers, this is a great opportunity to progress your career in housing development, working on projects from their earliest feasibility stages, right the way through the planning and delivery process until handover.

You may have a background in a relevant property, planning or construction field, or otherwise be able to demonstrate transferrable skills and an enthusiasm for creating quality new homes and places.  Your duties will be broad and varied – from setting up resident consultation events as part of the planning process, to overseeing works programmes and ensuring our customers receive first class service as homes are completed.  Whilst prior development experience is an advantage, it’s not absolute as we’ll set up a comprehensive training programme in any case.

Success in the role will stem from a proactive approach and willingness to build effective relationships with customers, other departmental teams and key stakeholders across the organisation.  The environment is fast-paced, with tight deadlines therefore you will need to be a good communicator, well organised, have excellent written, numerical and analytical skills and sound IT abilities.

In return, we can offer you working arrangements that will enhance your work-life balance. These include home working (dependant on service needs) and in line with COVID 19 guidelines and a generous holiday allowance of 31 days plus bank holidays.

In addition, we offer a range of staff benefits such as membership of the Local Government contributory pension scheme, childcare vouchers, new technology scheme, interest-free loans on annual travel cards, discounts at many leisure activities, restaurants, shops and other establishments. A wide range of developmental opportunities is also offered.
