An exciting dynamic fulltime wellbeing operational manager role has been created within Barnet Integrated Clinical Services (BICS), the provider of mild-to-moderate mental health services for children and young people in London Borough of Barnet. We are expanding our existing low intensity Mental Health Support Team (MHST) and Children and Young People’s Wellbeing Provision (CWP). The successful applicant for the Wellbeing Operational Manager role will be part of both MHST and CWP and oversee the operations of both teams and wider BICS smooth running.

The funding is secured by BICS is part of the government’s green paper ambitions to transform mental health support in England. This will build on the prevention and early intervention work in schools and in the community and is a key and permanent part of developing early help support within BICS for children and young people’s mental health.

In line with the government’s priority to increase access and availability of mental health and wellbeing support for children and young people, the MHST and CWP provide exciting opportunities to deliver evidence-based early interventions for children and young people, working across both educational settings and healthcare sectors as well as in the community.

The post-holder must employ excellent communication and engagement skills to liaise efficiently both internally (within BICS) and externally (with other providers), in various settings and forums such as team meetings, the Project Board, Service Planning meetings, etc. As part of their liaison with education settings, GP surgeries and partner stakeholders, the Wellbeing Operational Manager will lead the coordination for the rollout of the Link Programme borough-wide (in collaboration with CCG and Anna Freud Centre). They will also have direct oversight of the execution of communications and various policies, e.g. ensuring the communications and engagement plan is carried out. The post-holder will be responsible for maintaining processes for the effective operation of the teams, working closely with the MHST and CWP Clinical Managers in achieving the best outcome for BICS and Barnet’s children and young people.

MHST and CWP consist of trainees, qualified low-intensity practitioners (CWPs and EMHPs), senior wellbeing practitioners, and Clinical Supervisors. The teams are overseen by Clinical Managers supported by Assistant Psychologists and the Wellbeing Operational Manager, who may also have line management duties for an Administrator and a Youth Engagement Officer dependent on experience. There will be oversight by the Clinical Lead.
