If you are a talented construction project manager, looking for a varied and challenging workload, this is an excellent opportunity to expand your skills and experience within our newly-formed team of Assistant Directors. Supporting a small Senior Management Team to deliver the council’s corporate objectives, you will lead the delivery of the Council’s directly managed commercial and housebuilding programme and act as Lead Officer for West Norfolk Property Ltd, the Council’s wholly owned local authority property development company.
You will be responsible for all elements and delivery of the council’s directly managed major housebuilding programme, and the delivery of smaller, commercially viable projects on council owned sites. This will include direct line management of the Programme and Project Delivery team, and close liaison with other Assistant Directors responsible for property services and strategic housing, who will develop projects you will be responsible for delivering. You will also assist with the overall delivery of the council’s corporate business plan and programmes of work, in particular offering advice and assistance in relation to major contract negotiations/ compliance.
You must have a degree in Building Construction or equivalent professional qualification and a project management qualification together with a minimum of 3 years’ post qualification experience in delivering major corporate programmes and projects. You should also have an understanding of funding and implementation of infrastructure programmes and developer agreements and experience of contract procurement and compliance.
