An exciting opportunity to develop your analysis skills in a cross-functional team
Brent is a tremendously vibrant London borough where the iconic arch of Wembley Stadium dominates the skyline. Spanning both inner and outer London, it is a borough of huge contrasts in terms of its economic, environmental, ethnic and social make up. Brent’s diversity is evident to all who visit our borough and our long history of ethnic and cultural diversity has created a place that is truly unique and valued by those who live and work here.
The council is pursuing a far-reaching transformation agenda that better meets the needs of our community so it is an exciting time to join us.
Our Performance, Insight and Improvement service acts as a specialist resource across our Community Wellbeing Department; which encompasses Housing, Adult Social Care, Culture & Leisure and Public Health. The service is central to helping the department develop a better understanding of the challenges facing our services, to robustly monitor and improve quality, and to gain more sophisticated insight into the needs and experiences of our customers – and then ensure we utilise all of this knowledge to design and deliver lasting improvements across our services.
As part of a small team, you will support the delivery of a range of performance management activity for a service area within Community Wellbeing; either Adult Social Care, Housing, Culture and Public Health, or Research and Insight. You’ll undertake analysis for statutory and corporate performance reporting, and project work to support and inform service improvement initiatives. Working with operational managers across Community Wellbeing, you’ll lead developments to improve data quality, and actively develop and improve our performance systems.
Our analysts work together as a single performance team, giving them the opportunity to develop and learn from one another. They are aligned to a particular function (Adult Social Care, Housing, or Insight) in order to build specialist knowledge, but also have the opportunity to work on projects across the whole of Community Wellbeing, so this is a unique opportunity to develop your specialism, whilst still gaining exposure to a wide range of services.
We are currently recruiting for an analyst to specialise in Housing.
The ideal candidate will have sound working knowledge of a wide variety of reporting tools including Microsoft Excel, Business Objects and Power BI, and the ability to analyse and interpret complex qualitative and quantitative data; drawing conclusions and presenting findings in a compelling way to suit a variety of different audiences.
Experience of provision of research information and performance indicators, and of ensuring the accuracy of data, is essential.
The right candidate will be self-motivated, with a “can-do” attitude and a readiness to suggest practical and innovative approaches to undertaking research and performance activities, and creative ways of presenting and sharing findings.
Closing Date: 24 January 2021 (23:00)
