About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen within Barnet’s Public Health Team to recruit a Health Improvement Officer- Children and Young People. Working alongside the rest of the team this role will support improvements in the health and well-being of children and young people in Barnet. 

About you

We are looking for someone who will provide public health expertise to the children and young people’s portfolio. The key areas of focus are the Healthy Child Programme, Resilient Schools Programme including Digital Resilience, Child Healthy Weight Pathway, Safeguarding, Health Protection, Sexual Health Promotion and the Council's COVID-19 response.

You will be responsible for working across the council and with a range of partners to improve the health and well-being of the children and young people in Barnet.  The role will work closely with colleagues in the CCG, Schools, Education and Skills, and Family Services to ensure that prevention and early identification is supported in all our programmes and strategic design.

The successful candidate will have a can-do attitude, be comfortable in working collaboratively; you will have a background in Public Health.
