The Role

We are looking for a Head of Heating Services to lead and manage a team of experienced heating engineers.

You will based in Wandsworth which is in the heart of London, and will be responsible for the provision of safe and reliable heating service to borough's residents. Duties include managing, liaison with and monitoring contractors to ensure prompt attendance to breakdowns, effective repair and maintenance works and statutory inspections to be conducted as specified. Confidence in using computer systems including MS Office software are essential, as is the ability to deal sensitively with residents and their representatives with the highest standard of customer care.

About the team:

You will manage a team of heating engineers and contractors installing, maintaining and repairing heating services to the Council’s housing stock, from individual property boilers to complex communal and alternative heating systems. With experience of project control and contract management you will be able to brief consultants, supervise contractors, carry out surveys and resolve design problems. You will also manage heating and related capital and revenue works contracts.

You will have knowledge and experience of installing and maintaining all types of individual and communal and alternative heating systems, communal cold-water booster systems, sprinklers, communal extract systems and se-duct/U-Duct flue systems.

You will have a qualification in heating, current A.C.S. Gas qualifications in domestic gas safety and domestic appliances (boilers, gas fires, water heaters and cookers) Testing or equivalent HNC qualifications and a substantial knowledge of heating services within housing properties and estates preferably in a local government environment.
