We are looking to recruit an experienced Chartered Civil or Structural Engineer within the Infrastructure Asset Management Section of the Highways and Streetcare Services Division. This post will sustain the council’s ongoing programme of maintenance and works for Highway and Engineering Structures throughout RCT.

The successful candidate will need to be proficient in structures asset management, design, inspection and monitoring in accordance with Design Manual For Roads and Bridges and relevant Codes of Practice, have the capability to support the Infrastructure Asset Manager with technical advice on the Authority’s Structures Assets, be able to lead, manage, advise, support and guide the Structures Teams within the Infrastructure Asset Section on the latest standards and techniques, and keep up to date with changes to national standards. The successful candidate will be acting as lead for the Technical Approval Authority.

This is an excellent professional opportunity in this particular field of engineering, to be the expert for support and advice within the Division, and have the opportunity to make a significant impact in an increasingly important and challenging service area that the Authority provides.

This role will provide the hands on professional and technical opportunities that an experienced Chartered Structural Engineer will relish with the added benefits of a good work life balance, flexible working opportunities, 25 days annual leave and a staff benefits card.
