This is an exciting time to be in Preston and the Building Control team is playing its part in making the city a great place to live, work and visit.

We are investing in our Building Control service and we are looking for a positive, enthusiastic, well organised and self-motivated individual who can work as part of a team. A person who has initiative, attention to detail and who takes pride in delivering a high level of customer service.

Experience of working within a Building Control department is desirable or alternatively a fast paced, busy office environment utilising transferable skills particularly in customer care and financial administration.

You will be required to work to deadlines so must have excellent time management skills.

You will provide both administrative and technical support to the Building Control team and will work with the Building Control Team Leaders to manage the income of the service.

You will be responsible for invoicing and issuing receipts, reconciliation of Building Control budgets and assisting with accounting reports of the wider Directorate budget.

You will need to have an extensive understanding of Microsoft Office products and electronic
document management systems.You must have excellent communication skills to deal with a wide range of customers, including the public, building contractors and professionals.
