Job Purpose

This role will support and deliver work around effective marketing, communications, social media and design to support the development and delivery of the Holiday Activity and Holiday Hunger programmes.

This role will require experience in marketing, communications or digital and social media. It will be ideal for the candidate to have good knowledge of the full marketing mix, across all media platforms and be able to demonstrable experience of using creative and innovative delivery methods effectively.

Service/Functional Accountabilities

  • Development and delivery of the marketing and communications plan for the Holiday Activity and Holiday Hunger programmes.
  • Design and deliver innovative marketing material to strengthen and promote the Holiday Activity and Holiday Hunger programmes.
  • Utilise our various platforms such as social media, email marketing and PR with messaging, assets and advertising.
  • To align with the work of the Active Essex relationship management team.
  • Develop and deliver multi-channel marketing and internal and external (B2B, B2C & B2G) communication, exploiting the use of digital.
  • Review and analyse the impact of marketing activity to ensure marketing collateral is cost effective and increases engagement.
  • Build strong working relationships within the Active Essex team, to deliver joint objectives, which are mutually beneficial.
  • To support the Active Essex Foundation with wider marketing and communication requirements when needed.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

  • Educated to A level with a qualification in marketing, communications or digital & social media or equivalent by experience.
  • Good knowledge of the full marketing mix across all media platforms with experience of developing and delivering marketing collateral.
  • To be familiar with a variety of social media platforms and confident in copywriting.
  • Experience using Adobe Creative Suite would be preferable, Adobe InDesign in particular.
  • Evidence of implementing multi-channel marketing campaigns that encourage behaviour change, inspire, and promote opportunities to help develop and strengthen organisations.
  • Evidence of good interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong working relationships and communicate clearly and accurately to a variety of audiences.

This position will initially, in line with current government guidance be based from home, with an expectation of being home based for the foreseeable future. However, if / when government guidelines change the role may then revert to being office based, whilst retaining some flexible working options.

Please note that Essex County Council has determined that the off-payroll working rules will apply to this assignment and where a worker elects to provide their services through an intermediary (such as a personal services company) then income tax and primary national insurance contributions will be deducted at source from any payments made to the intermediary.
