And we’re making radical social change a reality, so that nobody gets left behind. Here’s where you can help decide a better future for us all

The role

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced EDT Sessional Mental Health Practitioner AMHP to work in a dynamic team that is linked to Camden’s out of hours Emergency Duty Team.  The role is to act as an Approved Mental Health Professional, mainly undertaking and recording formal Mental Health Act assessments in hospitals and police stations. Other tasks will include advising callers and taking on such tasks that may be necessary relevant to dealing with people with Mental Health difficulties, and other vulnerable adults.

Sessional AMHPs will work from 10am to 8pm on a weekend day or bank holiday on a rota agreed with EDT manager. They will be expected to complete Mental Health Act Assessments in Hospitals, Police Stations and exceptionally elsewhere. Appropriate forms and reports will need timely completion. Other tasks appropriate to the role may also be allocated.

Please note a degree of flexibility is required for this role as you will need to commit to doing occasional weekend daytime shifts on Saturdays, Sundays and weekends paid on an hourly basis.

Any overtime will be reimbursed on the agreed hourly rate, and any sessional AMHP has access to Camden AMHP training. Essential equipment will be provided.

Sessional AMHPs will have access to the on call EDT senior Practitioner, or EDT manager to discuss any assessments, and issues arising.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and will require an Enhanced DBS.
