Orkney Islands Council and NHS Orkney are looking for an exceptional individual who can work with a range of stakeholders to provide a single point of overall strategic leadership for the Integrated Joint Board (IJB) and help shape the further integration and improvement of health and social care services within Orkney.

Reporting to the Chief Executives of Orkney Islands Council and NHS Orkney, the postholder will require strong leadership skills and an ability to work closely with our Communities and Partners, in order to deliver this change agenda.

As Chief Officer of the IJB you will be expected to take a leading role in delivering best outcomes for patients, people who use services, and carers within Orkney, and to design and communicate a coherent vision, set of values, and culture to underpin the delivery of integrated services.

The Chief Officer will also be expected to play a key role in partnership developments over time, which may include considering different ways of working and different roles that contribute to the overall sustainability of public services in Orkney.

As an experienced Senior Manager, you will drive change to ensure the Integrated Joint Board successfully implements Health & Social Care Integration within Orkney. Educated to Degree level, with a relevant professional background, you will possess substantial leadership experience in a multi-disciplinary public, private or third sector organisation, and be able to demonstrate continuous improvement and achievements.

You will have a successful track record in leading and managing organisational and cultural change along with experience of managing significant financial resources. Proactive and influential, you will have experience of communicating at a strategic level with the ability to operative effectively under pressure and manage competing demands. This post is subject to PVG Scheme Membership in respect of Children and Vulnerable Adults.
