The Barnet Early Autism Model (BEAM) is a home based teaching service for pre-school children with Autism. We are looking to extend our model to include a caseload of children who are of school age, starting with 5-7 year olds. We are looking for an energetic and experienced person with an interest in this area to deliver structured and individualised support, principally in the home; working directly with the child and supporting parents / carers. The post is a great opportunity for someone currently working with Autistic children to develop and extend their knowledge and skills.

Some relevant previous experience is desirable, particularly in the use of communication systems, visuals and some knowledge of the SCERTS Model. All programs will be supervised by a specialist Advisory Teacher. The successful candidate must have a full UK driving license and access to a car. We would particularly welcome interest from applicants who are neurodiverse or have a family member with autism.

For an informal discussion about the post please contact Sara Mansi, call 020 8359 6336 / 07850 945 242 or email sara.mansi@Barnet.gov.uk

To apply for this post, you must complete the online application form via Trac which can be accessed here jobs.islington.gov.uk/vacancy/2922222.

Please note that a CV will not be accepted as it does not meet our assessment criteria and commitment to equal opportunities.

Closing date for applications: 12:00pm on Friday 19th February 2021

Interviews: Wednesday 24th February 2021
