We’re home to the most important conversations happening today. As an experienced Contract Manager this is an exciting opportunity to be part of our North London Waste Authority (NLWA) Strategy and Services team.

The role

In this role you will manage a high-profile waste reception, haulage and treatment contract with a value in excess of £36 million per annum. You will be responsible for ensuring all contractual, permit and legislative requirements are met and that the contract contributes effectively towards the delivery of the joint key outcomes of the NLWA and its constituent Boroughs.

The postholder will also play a pivotal role in ensuring operations are maintained with minimum disruption to our constituent boroughs as we begin building a £1.2bn Energy Recovery Facility (ERF) and Resource Recovery Facility (RRF) on the site of our existing plant in Edmonton. The RRF will include an area to process bulky waste and prepare materials for energy recovery and a public Reuse and Recycling Centre.  The postholder will require excellent communication and collaborative working attributes to bring a wide-ranging group of stakeholders together in the pursuit of the best joint outcomes.

Travel will be required with this role as there are multiple sites to monitor.

About you

Educated to degree level or equivalent level of work experience at a senior level relevant to the field with detailed knowledge of current issues and statutory and regulatory requirements for service area.

The right individual will have experience of managing large contracts in the waste industry and a track record of delivering associated budgets.

The person will have excellent communication skills and will be capable of creating reports and presenting these to a wide-ranging audience including directors and elected members.

You should have experience of using MS Office in particular Word, Outlook, excel and have knowledge of using data management systems.
