An exciting career opportunity has arisen for a dynamic, ambitious, and motivated Senior Systemic Family Therapist to work as a Clinical Manager in Barnet’s Integrated Clinical Services (BICS), a CYP MH Service for CYP and families presenting with mild to moderate mental health difficulties in the community and within social care in the borough. We are a strong, supportive, friendly department and welcome for a highly experienced clinical psychologist or equivalent to join us. We welcome also applicants wishing to work flexibly.

Barnet is one of the most diverse boroughs in London which provides opportunities and challenges that are rewarding, both professionally and personally. We are focused on making Barnet an even better place to live for all families, we call this ambition “Family Friendly Barnet”. At the heart of this vision is our aim of helping families, children and young people to become resilient so they can thrive and achieve.

BICS has four teams within their service -  two low intensity teams based in schools and the community and two high intensity teams based in the community and social care including Youth offending Service (YOS). You will join the Clinical Social Care (CSC) team overseeing the clinical provision within the YOS, REACH (CYP at risk of criminal and sexual exploitation) and lead the family clinic for children with allocated social care workers. You will also provide clinical supervision and management to a team of experienced clinical practitioners who provide community based mental health assessments and interventions to children and young people presenting with moderate mental health difficulties known to Barnet’s social care teams. These clinical practitoners also provide consultations and training to social care colleagues. There is potential for the successful applicant to have a small clinical caseload in their area of specialism.

Additionally, the successful applicant will work in partnership with the other CSC clinical manager who has oversight of the clinician provision within the children in care teams, safeguarding teams and residential homes. The successful applicant will be part of the wider BICS management team. You will be supporting the Clinical Lead in developing the service in becoming a clinical centre of excellence and be involved in a range of innovative service development and improvement projects for example developing family clinics within the service.

There will also be an opportunity to facilitate the assessment and change forum that supports ‘best practice’ in assessment, Child in Need and Child Protection interventions to invite multiple perspectives from key professionals in management, clinical and practice development roles, so they can move towards enquiry, explore meaning and agree approaches to risk management, assessment and intervention

We value and encourage your continuing professional development and will support you with experienced supervision from the Clinical Lead and peer support from the other CSC Clinical Manager and other Clinical Managers within BICS. We offer excellent specialist CPD and training opportunities such as leadership and specialist clinical therapeutic approaches. The department has established strong working relationships with colleagues in Barnet’s Family Service. In addition, you will have ample opportunities to work with partner agencies such as Barnet’s Tier 3 NHS Specialist CAMHS, other community and voluntary services. We also have links with the London Clinical Psychology and Systemic Training Schemes.

If shortlisted you will be required to bring photographic ID to your interview to prove your identity.
