Job Details

The Greater Cambridge Partnership (GCP) is responsible for transforming Greater Cambridge through a City Deal aimed at unlocking the economic growth potential of the area over the coming decades and realising thousands of new jobs and homes.

As Assistant Director Sustainable and Inclusive Growth, you will help shape the direction for future investment and interventions across the area, ensuring that the GCP delivers sustainable and inclusive economic growth. The post-holder will be a crucial part of the GCP senior leadership team, driving forward ground-breaking strategies and policies which will have long lasting benefits for people who live, visit and work in Greater Cambridge.

Given the current constraints on our economy and the challenges we are facing in light of Covid-19, securing inclusive growth is a key strategic priority. We need someone who is prepared to tackle the challenges that come with the unique location and context of Greater Cambridge. Navigating a complex governance environment, you will be politically astute, with the ability to build consensus and credibility with civic, academic and business stakeholders, in order to deliver high levels of impact at a local, sub-regional and national level.

You will require an excellent understanding of local economic growth and infrastructure delivery within a local authority or central Government context. Leading on the GCP’s future strategic direction through ownership of the Future Investment Strategy, you will direct investment across a c£1bn programme of work. You will influence the policies and decisions of a range of partners to spread prosperity and generate healthier, happier communities across Greater Cambridge.

If you would like any further information on this role, please contact GCP Chief Executive Rachel Stopard (Rachel.stopard@cambridgeshire.gov.uk). If you would prefer to speak to Rachel directly, please contact her Executive Assistant (denise.evans@cambridgeshire.gov.uk) to arrange a telephone appointment.
