Head of Finance & Strategic Partnerships

We are seeking to appoint a dynamic and experienced public sector senior leader to join our forward thinking Town Council in Biggleswade.

Biggleswade is a thriving market town within the Central Bedfordshire Council area and is administered by a pro-active Town Council. The Council serves a population of 20200 and a budget of £1.2m approx.

The Council operates a wide range of facilities including the Orchard Community Centre, allotments, markets, cemeteries, many of the towns parks and recreation grounds. The Council holds the Local Council Award Scheme at Foundation level. The pro-active council is currently facilitating the preparation of a Neighbourhood Plan and intends to continue working with its partners to create a new programme of events and services to benefit the community.

The successful candidate will be a politically aware professional who thrives in a challenging, diverse role where a commitment to continuous improvement and innovation is a must. A team player, they will assume operational responsibility for managing the Council’s Finance and Accounting function, commercial offer and strategy, strategic partnerships, and the Town Centre Regeneration and Place Shaping activity.
