About Us:

Reshape our organisation around the needs of residents and communities.

At Kensington and Chelsea, we’re working to ensure our borough and its people emerge stronger from these uniquely challenging times. Embedding lessons learnt and adapting to and recovering from the pandemic will be top priorities. We’ll also ensure the Council achieves its ambitions on equality, diversity and inclusion.

In Kensington and Chelsea, we put local people and local businesses at the heart of decision-making, working in partnership with them to provide quality services that are responsive, effective and efficient. We are committed to ensuring our communities can access the support they need, when they need it.

The Role:

Your focus will be on streamlining and improving many of our interactions with residents, businesses, visitors and business partners. You’ll start by investigating, understanding and analysing customer needs and business requirements across the Council.  You’ll then work collaboratively with services and service users to develop new customer journeys and redesign our organisation around them.

From parking permits to housing needs, the customer will be at the centre of all we do to improve. A key challenge will be bringing services and departments together to deliver joined-up solutions. It’s a role that will test your business analysis, project management, research and design skills but which will also allow you to make your mark in transforming the way we deliver services.

Please refer to the Job Description for more information.

About You:

Inquisitive, perceptive and rigorous, you’ll also be a ‘people person’: a good listener, with the ability to relate financial and performance data to real lives. In line with the person specification you’ll have a background in business analysis and experience of using at least one recognised service improvement method such as Systems Thinking or Six Sigma. You’ll be used to the challenges of operating within a complex organisation with many stakeholders, and will be able to apply both project and programme methodologies to deliver change. Capable of building rapport and fostering productive working relationships, you’ll have excellent communication skills, including the ability to challenge and influence others.

In return, you can look forward to a package that includes a competitive salary, a high-quality pension scheme and generous annual leave plus bank holidays.

If you feel that this could be the role for you then please complete our online application form, giving examples of how your skills and experience meet the person specification.

We work in partnership with Hampshire County Council (HCC) who deliver many transactional services on our behalf. Although most communications will be from HCC, all selection and appointment decisions will be made by RBKC. Certain services are shared across more than one Council area to nearby neighbouring Authorities. This enhances delivery and reduces costs. Your recruitment information will advise if your remit extends beyond RBKC.

We will primarily contact candidates by e-mail throughout the recruitment process, please monitor your email junk / spam folder as our system generated emails may be allocated to these folders by your email settings.

We engage our staff with a variety of learning types including face-to-face and virtual learning because we want to ensure our staff understand our values and behaviours, grow their skills and develop their careers.
