The role

We are looking for an inspirational Youth Offending Service Team Manager to provide expert operational day to day leadership for their teams and to ensure services are delivered in line with local and national standards, ensuring safe, effective and consistent delivery with the primary objective to deliver high quality outcome focused youth justice provision to children in Camden. You will be passionate about achieving better outcomes for children known to the YOS and deliver Camden’s vision for children through the provision of integrated youth offending services for children and their families.  This role will oversee the Court Team, and therefore experience of Court work is essential.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and will require an Enhanced DBS

You will have significant experience of case management within a youth offending service, managing staff and performance, and quality assurance.  To be considered for this post it is essential that you have a proven record of delivering high quality services and interventions to very vulnerable children.  It is also a pre-requisite that you possess in-depth knowledge and understanding of legislative framework and polices relating to children’s services. This includes safeguarding, child protection, criminal justice and can demonstrate detailed knowledge and understanding of the Youth Offending and the Youth Justice System, the Youth Justice Board and its requirements and the role of the Ministry of Justice. You will have demonstrable experience in the ability to lead, motivate and manage multi-disciplinary staff teams in a range of work environments and contexts. You will have ssignificant experience within a Youth Offending Service; hold considerable experience of case management oversight as well as understanding of the concepts of the Good Lives Model, Trauma informed practice and Theories of Desistance.

You will need to hold a degree level qualification in any of the following professions

  • Social Work (HCPC registered)
  • Probation
  • Youth and Community work
  • A relevant qualification such as Youth Justice, Psychology, Counselling, or Substance misuse
  • Management Qualification or willing to undertake management training.
