The Role

We are looking for highly motivated and enthusiastic individuals to join our Pensions Shared Service as Team Leader's in our Benefits Team.  The Pensions Shared Service, based in Wandsworth, runs the administration of the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) for five London boroughs: Camden, Merton, Richmond, Waltham Forest and Wandsworth.

This is very exciting phase for our service as we transform through a programme of expanding our staffing resources, greater use of automation and emphasis on people development.

As a Team Leader in our Benefits Team, you will have the opportunity to gain managerial experience.  Your responsibilities will include checking work, ensuring performance indicators are maintained, advising our customers and improving processes.  This role requires good technical knowledge of the LGPS and the ability to drive continual improvement.

We recognise the importance of a good balance between work and home life so we do everything we can to accommodate options including compressed hours, home working (dependent on service need) and a flexi scheme. Please just let us know in your application or at any stage throughout the process (and beyond) if these are options you’d like to explore. We also offer a generous holiday allowance of 39 paid days (pro rata) including bank holidays and a wide range of learning and development opportunities.

In addition, we offer a comprehensive range of staff benefits such as membership of the Local Government pension scheme, childcare vouchers, new technology scheme, interest-free loans on annual travel cards, discounts with many leisure activities, restaurants, shops and other establishments.
