About the Team
Family Support and Protection (FS&P) is a highly regarded frontline service working across Essex.
Our teams work in a dynamic and supportive environment, with families who require our support and intervention for longer than three months intervention.
We specialise in working alongside families as agents of change, enabling children to remain with their families wherever possible.
As well as supporting families as Children in Need (CIN) and when they are subject to Child Protection (CP) plans. We work hard to ensure Children can remain with their families where possible, but we do have a dedicated Children in Care Team.
We work in partnership with families and services in the community to achieve positive change within the context of managing risk. We have brilliant Family Centres and a highly- regarded Family Group Conference Service to support us in this.
This is deeply interesting and varied work giving you scope to develop your practice, with the right framework, tools, and supervision in a variety of ways including group, individual, personal, reflective spaces.
About you
Along with a diploma in Social Work, CQSW, CSS or equivalent, and Social Work England registration as a registered Social Worker, you will be expected to bring skill and high standards of social work to your own caseload, with a comprehensive working knowledge and experience within the field of practice in Children Services.
The role requires you to be mobile throughout a wide operational area including travelling around the county of Essex and beyond, transporting service users and their belongings and to be able to do so in an emergency. Driving licence and car or ability to meet the mobility requirements of the role through other means is essential.
