Social Care Managers
We are recruiting Social Care Managers to work in our Adults Social Care Learning Disabilities Team, including Preparing for Adulthood. To apply for this post you must be a Social Worker or hold an equivalent qualification.
This is an exciting time to join the team as we continue to develop our strengths-based approaches and work with customers, their carers and families. We want to enable those we work with to find the right solutions for them, develop their capabilities and engage with community led support.
We would like enthusiastic, motivated and skilled team members to support us in taking this forward.
To undertake this role you need to have excellent communication skills. You need to have the confidence to work independently and to manage and prioritise your workload on a daily basis. You need to be able to work in partnership with our customers, carers and professional colleagues from a range of agencies, including Health and Education Services. We continue to undertake home visits and visits to other settings, observing Covid guidance.
As this role is public facing, applicants will need to demonstrate, at interview, their competency to converse and provide advice and guidance to members of the public, in spoken English to CEFR level C1: Can express him/herself fluently and spontaneously, almost effortlessly. Only a conceptually difficult subject can hinder a natural, smooth flow of language.
City of York Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all employees and volunteers to share this commitment. We require the successful candidate to undertake an enhanced Criminal Record check via the Disclosure and Barring Service.
You will work as part of a friendly and supportive team. At present we are home-based due to Covid working arrangements. But we have a range of options in place to ensure that everyone has support from managers and peers.
