An exciting career opportunity has arisen for a dynamic, ambitious, and motivated Principal Clinical Psychologist or equivalent to work as a fulltime Principal Primary Mental Health Clinician in Barnet’s Integrated Clinical Services (BICS), a CYP MH Service for CYP and families presenting with mild to moderate mental health difficulties in the community and within social care. We are a strong, supportive, friendly department and welcome for a highly experienced clinical psychologist or equivalent to join us.

BICS has four teams within their service and you will join the Primary Mental Health Team. The successful applicant will be part of BICS management team and provide clinical supervision and management to a team of clinical practitioners from psychological backgrounds. PHM clinicans provide community based mental health assessments and interventions to children and young people moderate mental health difficulties in the community. These clinical practitioners also provide consultations and training to partner agencies. The successful applicant will have a small clinical caseload in their area of specialism.

Additionally, the successful applicant will work in partnership with the PHMT clinical manager, who is an experienced systemic therapist, supporting the Clinical Lead in developing BICS becoming a clinical centre of excellence. As senior, you will be involved in a range of innovative service development and improvement projects such as our recovery workshops across BICS; and within the PHMT co-production initiatives with Early Help Hubs and the wider community.

We are looking for a highly experienced Clinical Psychologist who has a proven track record within child and adolescent mental health; able to provide high quality clinical supervision and line management to a small clinical team, experience working with partner agencies in the community, experience in service evaluation, development and improvement. Ideally you are someone who could be creative, flexible, dynamic and have confidence in your ability to problem solve and make decisions.

We value and encourage your continuing professional development and will support you with experienced supervision from the Clinical Lead and peer support from the PMHT Clinical Manager and other seniors within BICS. We offer excellent specialist CPD and training opportunities such as leadership and specialist clinical therapeutic approaches. The department has established strong working relationships with colleagues in Barnet’s Family Service. In addition, you will have ample opportunities to work with partner agencies such as Barnet’s Schools, Tier 3 NHS Specialist CAMHS, other community and voluntary services. We also have links with the London Clinical Psychology and Systemic Training Schemes.
