Expand your place-shaping power

As an Executive Director at Publica, your scope will go beyond the norm. That’s because Publica is a council-owned company that transforms services for almost 400,000 people across Gloucestershire and Oxfordshire. Join us and you’ll be helping to deliver place-shaping, development, housing and carbon reduction priorities across an area of 2,511 sq kms. And all while acting as relationship lead for Cotswold District Council.

Publica works with four council partners (Cotswold District, Forest of Dean District, West Oxfordshire District and Cheltenham Borough), providing a range of shared services. Each council has its own unique priorities, from fulfilling a Green agenda to boosting growth and skills. Your task is to help each council achieve its goals, serve its communities and make its area an amazing place to be. That means driving progress on a wide variety of projects that could cover Property; Regeneration; Housing; Health & Wellbeing; Economic Development; Local Plans; and Local Enterprise Partnerships.

Clearly, this is a role that demands tremendous focus and collaboration. An expert on partnership working, you’ll thrive on dealing with multiple stakeholders and using your influence and energy to get goals delivered. You’ll have particular responsibility for nurturing our connection with Cotswold District Council, as locality lead. Credibility will be vital to inspire trust and support.

You’ll therefore need a background in place-shaping and delivering for communities, plus a relevant management or professional qualification. You should also bring strategic vision and the ability to advise at the highest levels. A natural networker, you’ll build relationships and be politically sensitive. But at the same time, you’ll be determined, resilient and analytical.

In return for your expert strategic leadership, we can offer a role with different challenges every day. It comes with a range of benefits, from a generous pension, to work-life balance, salary sacrifice car & bike lease schemes.

Join us in an environment where you can give your best.
