Job Details
Camden is changing on the inside to make life better for everyone. Because we’re not just home to the UK’s fastest growing economy. We’re home to the most important conversations happening today. And we’re making radical social change a reality, so that nobody gets left behind. As a Learning and Development Kickstart Officer you will work directly with young people on the Kickstart Scheme in Camden, supporting them to learn and develop and go on to find good work.
The role
The Kickstart scheme provides funding to employers to create job placements for 16 to 24 year olds on Universal Credit. Over 60 young people will be part of the Kickstart scheme in Camden, both with the Council and with employers in the borough.
This role is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering the learning and development offer supporting Camden’s Kickstarters, ensuring a high-quality development experience for all internal placements and an excellent service to stakeholders and external customers.
About you
You will be highly motivated to support young people to develop and learn as they undertake their Kickstart placement. You will have operational and logistical experience supporting the successful delivery of learning programmes and /or projects. You will be flexible in your approach, working well with a wide range of stakeholders to provide information and guidance, and facilitate the smooth running of the programme.
You are someone who thrives when working in collaboration. You bring a positive attitude to the work and build great working relationships with those around you.
Experience of supporting the development of others in the workplace through buddy systems, apprentiships, mentoring, coaching or other similar relationships would be of additional benefit.
Using a range of data and information, you seek to understand the ongoing success of the programme and make recommendations for continuous improvement that support young people to develop and achieve their full potential.
We’re ready to welcome your ideas, your views, and your rebellious spirit. Help us redefine our corporate services, and we’ll redefine what a career can be.
