Shropshire is a fantastic place in which to live, work and visit, with a clean and beautiful natural environment with a rich cultural heritage to discover and natural landscapes to explore, for residents and tourists alike.

As the lead officer for the Resources functions across the council you will be a key part of the council’s executive leadership team contributing significantly to the overall strategic and operational management of the council. You’ll be the guardian of a wide-ranging role which takes in responsibility for the statutory finance and legal roles, together with Workforce, Information and Insight, ICT, Communications, and the strategic lead on our digital development.

We are looking for the drive, passion and ambition to ensure that our future plans are delivered and that we maximise the opportunities as part of our evolving plans for transformation and innovation.

By linking our strategies we’re able to deliver our high-level outcomes, working to reduce duplication of activity and focus resources. Ensuring our ICT, digital, commercial and workforce strategies all pull together with the corporate plan we can respond to the challenges we face, and underpin our sustainable business model, presented in the financial strategy.

You’ll be a natural leader who can create energy around the resources agenda, and be able to draw upon a strong track record of achievement, as well as working with and influencing the internal and external partnerships we have to bring our range of partners and our diverse communities with us on the journey, and to ensure that our collective vision is realised.
