Are you an exemplary leader with strategic finance experience who’s got what it takes to help us build vibrant communities, create a thriving local economy and protect and enhance our environment?

Herefordshire is a dynamic and growing county. It has areas of outstanding natural beauty and sites of special scientific interest, with wildlife and conservation sites throughout the County. Not only is Herefordshire popular with those seeking to experience the outdoors, the County’s entrepreneurial spirit and room to grow has proved fruitful to business.

As a council, we’re relatively small but, we think, perfectly formed. We consider ourselves as a team of 1,344 staff and we’re proud to say that people who come here consistently comment on the warm welcome they receive. We’re recognised as ‘punching above our weight’ and part of the beauty of our size is the ability to get things to done, often in creative and innovative ways.

We’re seeking a forward-thinking Head of Management Accounting and Deputy Section 151 Officer who will progress our current work programme whilst also looking beyond what is currently planned, identifying new opportunities and building a bigger picture. As the Deputy Section 151 Officer, you will have professional accountancy status and associated technical skills, together with a proven track record in local government finance.

If you’re an inspirational leader who has a strong track record of delivering outcomes, thinks beyond the numbers and puts people at the heart of everything you do, we’d love to hear from you.
