Job Details

Royal Greenwich is proud to be a borough synonymous with first class modern services. A world heritage site, our communities are vibrant and diverse, and we pride ourselves on being a well-managed and well-run authority.

We have also recently published our first digital strategy. To make that strategy into a reality, we need to hire a new digital, data and technology team to join our existing skill set.

Our new product function will build all of our new products and services to realise our digital strategy. As a business analyst you'll play a huge part in this, working in multi-disciplinary product teams through the product lifecycle to deliver new user-centred services and iterate existing ones.

As a senior business analyst, you’ll act as a bridge between business and user need, and technical delivery for our most complex or interdependent products and services. You’ll analyse a service, finding the best way to deliver a radically better user experience, including leading on how to measure outcomes and set performance metrics.

You’ll be helping teams to build, taking responsibility for writing user stories and success criteria for features. You’ll drive good prioritisation by building an evidence base for user need and visualising the team’s work. You’ll be partnering directly with other areas of the council to help them understand the needs of their users, their processes, and how to measure what matters.

You’ll be able to sum up large amounts of complex information and deliver it clearly to any audience, and you’ll be comfortable working with both qualitative and quantitative data as well as being able to distill that into key points.

You’ll also be mentoring and coaching more junior members of the team, as well as helping set standards and good practice and advocating for good business analysis across the organisation.

You’ll be passionate about using data to improve product delivery, and about end-to-end service improvements across all channels – you'll be partnering with service areas to help them see what’s possible in their service.

You’ll already be working in agile ways, and be familiar with modern product delivery and ways of working (like using user stories to build and run a backlog). You’ll be an established business analyst or working in a similar role.

During the current Covid-19 response you will be working mainly at home; when the pandemic has abated we would like you to work with a mixture of home and office-based working.
