Corporate Director Adults, Health & Housing (DAHH)

Employer
Swindon Borough Council
Location
Swindon, Wiltshire
Salary
Up to £140,000
Closing date
9 May 2021

Here at Swindon Borough Council our ambition is not only to be one of the best local authorities in the country, but also one of the most modern and forward thinking. Swindon is a thriving town, consistently ranked highly compared to cities across the country and, as a council, we are constantly working to further improve the town for its residents and businesses.

As an integral part of a high-performing Corporate Management Team, the DAHH will work collaboratively to ensure cross-council working is at the heart of delivering our strategic priorities. The role has a specific focus on bringing adults, public health and housing services together and designing transformative work packages that deliver effective person-centred services. It includes the statutory role of the Director of Adult Social Services (DASS) but has wider leadership responsibilities for the council across the Integrated Care System and in joint commissioning between health and social care services, to create opportunities for adults to balance their own lives and wellbeing.

This will require an exemplary leader with an understanding of the links between adult social care, housing and health alongside significant experience of leading and integrating diverse and multifaceted teams. A strong, corporate player, you will have experience of managing large and complex budgets, of working with multiple stakeholder groups and an ability to inspire the workforce to change and improve. You will have a passion for safeguarding and quality assurance as well as for tackling inequalities.

This is an exceptional opportunity to shape a newly-configured role and make a real impact on the lives of the most vulnerable in our borough. We are looking for exceptional people to come and work for us. Our staff are connected, brave and resilient and everything they do contributes  to our vision. If you have these attributes then we want to hear from you.
