Location

Salary
£36,618 - £44,598 per annum
Closing date

About Us:

Understanding and addressing the root causes of hoarding behaviour.

In Kensington and Chelsea, we have an ambitious Council Plan which sets out our priorities for the next four years. It is directly shaped by the Council’s biggest ever ‘conversation’ with residents and puts community involvement at its heart. Embedding lessons learnt and recovering from the pandemic will be top priorities.

We want to ensure our approach to housing delivers social value and aligns with our ambitions on equality, diversity and inclusion. This includes looking after residents with complex social, health and economic needs, helping them to exercise choice and control.

The Role:

Qualified – Grade F - £36,618 - £44,598
For a qualified social worker holding a degree in social work with at least 2 years’ experience.

Unqualified – Grade E - £32,301 - £35,949
You have at least 2 years relevant housing experience and are currently studying towards a social work degree.

Focused on residents or households who would benefit from support with hoarding issues, this brand new role provides an ideal development opportunity for a trainee social worker. You’ll have the scope to manage your own workload but will work in close collaboration with colleagues in mental health and adult social care. Taking a holistic approach, you’ll draw up personalised plans for delivering practical advice and other interventions. Easy access to dedicated funding means you’ll be able to make a genuine difference.

Please refer to the Job Description for more information.

About You:

Your background could be in social work, housing or the voluntary sector but your interest lies in getting to the underlying causes of hoarding, and supporting individuals to change their future behaviour. You’ll also help different council teams and agencies work together to address the issue on a wider scale. A practised problem-solver and negotiator, able to overcome bureaucratic obstacles, you’ll be well-organised, resilient and resourceful. You’ll also need to be self-sufficient and flexible, able to set your own boundaries and organise your own workload. Good knowledge of mental health legislation, as well as the Care Act 2014 and safeguarding, is essential.

In return, you can look forward to a package that includes a competitive salary, a high-quality pension scheme and generous annual leave plus bank holidays.

Please apply online explaining how you meet the requirements set out in the person specification and job description. CV’s will not be considered for this role.
