About the Role
Working to support adults, and their families, who have complex social needs and are more vulnerable as a result of disability, exclusion, or diminished capacity, you'll maximise their potential to live independently.
With case work focusing on the most complex and challenging adult cases, you'll ensure that adults and their families are safeguarded. You'll share ideas and best practice, providing specialist advice as part of a multi-disciplinary team sharing your knowledge as an Occupational Therapist.
We currently have an Occupational Therapist role within our Countywide team for Enhanced Support In Reach.
We're looking for an experienced practitioner, ideally with LD and/or Autism experience and experience of working with adults with additional needs, ie. Mental Health. This role requires the ability to travel to secure hospitals/units, residential and supported living provisions and close working with health partners.
You will become a partner of the local community in which our residents live, alongside your Occupational Therapy work connecting Adults to opportunities in the community and universal services.
Openness to innovation is integral to this work, you will need to think outside the box and identify new ways of working and supporting others. You will be working collaboratively with Statutory and non-statutory organisations, excellent communication skills are essential for this role.
About You
To apply, you'll need a degree or diploma in Occupational Therapy, CQSW, CSS or equivalent qualification, with current Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registration. With experience of working in a Social Care or Health setting ideally working to support vulnerable adults. This should include the ability to work with a complex caseload underpinned by evidence-based practice.
This role involves travelling around Essex. A driving licence and car - or the ability to meet the mobility requirements of the role through other means - is essential.
All candidates applying to Adult Social Care will be expected to join on a 12-week rota on a 6-day shift pattern and this will include some weekend work.
