This high-performing team oversees the delivery of occupational health services, health promotion activity and health surveillance programs to managers and staff across the Council, plus Schools & Academies and external contracts.
As an Occupational Health Adviser, a critical element to the role is the effective liaison with multidisciplinary teams internally. North Yorkshire County Council has a workforce exceeding 20,000 people, so you will also be involved in the development and delivery of public health initiatives across the county, working alongside your line manager and public health consultants. As the Health and Wellbeing team delivers both internally and externally, you will be able to have a real impact in leading the delivery of a first rate Occupational Health service to our employees, as well as with external organisations.
If you are looking for that unique opportunity to prove what can be achieved when working alongside a team of dedicated professionals and experts then we are interested in hearing from you. You will enjoy working closely alongside experienced colleagues to deliver and maintain the highest levels of customer satisfaction and service delivery. We are looking for a strong candidate with a proven track record of working to the highest of standards, clinically and operationally, who is passionate about the benefits proactive occupational health can bring to organisations.
The ideal candidate will be a Registered General Nurse or a Registered Occupational Health Nurse (Degree or Diploma), possessing excellent communication skills. You will be customer, performance and solution focused and you will be able to evidence commercial awareness. In particular, a strong knowledge and experience of how the practicality and effectiveness of Occupational Health advice impacts in realising outcomes e.g. effective attendance management process.
For those who are looking to embrace this challenge, this is a rewarding opportunity in which you will have the chance to develop both knowledge and skills delivering services internally and to external partners. We can also offer you a comprehensive benefits package including generous annual leave entitlement, flexible working, excellent pension scheme, salary sacrifice schemes including car and cycle, technology and childcare schemes, as well as retail and leisure discounts.
Please note that due to the nature of this role you must be able to drive. This role is part-time and we are interested in applications ranging from three to five days.
