Trainee Conservation and Arboricultural Officer
About a Trainee Conservation and Arboricultural Officer:
Chelmsford City Council is looking to recruit a Trainee Conservation and Arboricultural Officer. This is a key post to help deliver the City Council’s Mass Woodland and Tree Planting programme, whilst also looking after the City Council’s existing tree stock.
It will give you an opportunity to work on live projects with experienced colleagues, gain insight into public services and local government and enhance skills you will need for a successful career.
We are seeking an energetic, enthusiastic and motivated individual who has excellent attention to detail, can work accurately and has excellent team working and inter-personal skills. This is extremely important, as this role involves frequent liaison with residents, volunteers, and other officers, and is based within the Public Places Directorate.
The role is a trainee post and a strong commitment to further training, qualifications and personal development is a key requirement.
For this role candidates will require a car driving licence as some aspects of the role will require travel to and from other locations and sites.
You will be a part higher education qualified person with a keen interest in the environment, conservation and arboriculture. You will have an interest in a career in local government. You will have some experience in the subject, have good interpersonal skills and you will also be able to work on your own initiative and within a team.
