Following a review of our senior management arrangements we are now looking to recruit a new Service Director to lead our Development & Regulation services.  We are looking for someone who can provide place shaping leadership for our Planning, Economic Development, Housing and Public Protection services, driving their delivery to support a green recovery for West Berkshire.  

We are looking for a candidate with the passion for place making and a successful track record in leading and developing large multi-service teams.  You will play an active role within the Senior Management Team working closely with the Executive Director Place, Chief Executive and Members.  You will be responsible for developing and overseeing the delivery of the Development & Regulation Services ensuring alignment against the Council Strategy.

You will need to be confident working with a wide range of stakeholders, be commercially astute with an understanding and commitment to the development of policies to promote sustainable development and community resilience.  

The successful candidate will be someone with a range of relevant and transferable skills and experience which will both complement our existing Senior Management Team and provide the leadership we look for from our Service Directors.
