If you can answer ‘yes’ to those questions you are the kind of person we are looking for to enter our pool of sessional/bank staff. 
 
We are looking to strengthen the teaching team at Bent Start and we want creative, flexible and committed staff to make this possible. This role requires team work and a willingness to do what it takes to support Brent Start and the curriculum area in which you will work. 

The Person

You are a dedicated member of staff who consistently puts learners first. *With attendance at team meetings, training events and standardisation/audit meetings, you are a person that can be relied upon to produce quality. You have knowledge and experience of RaRPA and also of using accreditation with external examination boards. 

Ideally you are a fully qualified teacher with either a PGCE or a Cert Ed as a minimum. You may also have some subject specific qualifications to add to your list. Your English and maths are already certified as level 2 or above**. If you do not already hold these qualifications, there can be a discussion around your commitment to gaining them within a certain time period. A current DBS would be welcome.

Casual tutors wanted for:

English

  • Must have PGCE/CertEd with English/Literacy specialism
  • Must have recent experience of teaching Functional Skills up to L1/L2
  • Experience/qualified to teach GCSE desirable

Childcare

  • Must be A1 Assessor (Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement)
  • Teaching qualification essential
  • Experience of teaching up to Level 3 Early Years Educator                                                                                                   
  • IQA L4 desirable or willing to work towards qualification                                  
  • Employability and mental health and wellbeing experience desirable

Health and Social Care

  • Must be A1 Assessor (Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement)
  • Teaching qualification essential
  • Experience of teaching up to Level 3 Adult Social care
  • IQA L4 desirable or willing to work towards qualification                                                                                                 
  • Employability and mental health and wellbeing experience desirable

Employability

  • Teaching qualification essential
  • Experience of delivering current employability skills including CV writing, job search strategies, interview skills and career advice and guidance essential
  • Experience in delivering administration and customer service courses minimum L2
  • A1 Assessor and/or IQA L4 desirable or willing to work towards qualification

Maths

  • Must have a minimum L2 Accounting qualification
  • Experience in using Accounting software desirable

Digital skills

  • with coding and social media experience

Fashion, clothes making and sewing

  • Must have experience of teaching sewing machine skills, pattern cutting, clothes alterations and clothes design, dressmaking, soft furnishings at various levels, including complete beginners.

May include evenings/weekends
