Rushcliffe Borough Council is a modern forward-thinking authority providing high quality services to over 112,000 people across South Nottinghamshire.

Rushcliffe’s strapline ‘Great Place, Great Lifestyle, Great Sport’ highlights why it is has been named the best place to live in the region with many residents reiterating their belief it is a can do council, backed up by industry commercial and entrepreneurial awards.

Located close to Nottingham on the banks of the River Trent, Rushcliffe has a strong identity of its own with a thriving sporting and retail centre of population in West Bridgford matched with picturesque villages and small towns with great transport links.

Its modern purpose-built office and leisure centre facility at Rushcliffe Arena is the perfect place to progress your career.

This allows employees remote, smart and flexible working opportunities to enjoy and maintain a healthy lifestyle using the leisure centre facilities.

Astutely managed financially and ready to tackle the challenges of a post COVID-19 climate, we want you to be part of our journey for continued success and to help ensure the Council has a sustainable financial strategy and continues to deliver excellent services.

We are seeking to recruit a Senior Finance Business Partner with strong leadership skills.

You must be able to manage staff and lead the financial services team in continuing to deliver high quality information to support the Council, be technically experienced and CCAB qualified (or part qualified working towards full qualification) and able to work with services, to be creative and innovative, and drive new ideas through the organisation.

We have an ambitious Capital Programme and expect you to be able to assist with the delivery, including the impact on cash flow and treasury.

You will support the production of the statement of accounts and budget setting including associated returns and will oversee the exchequer function of the section.

You will assist both the Council’s Section 151 Officer and the Financial Services Manager in reporting to Scrutiny, Cabinet and Council.

You will be commercially minded and driven to ensure the Council gains maximum value for money so services exploit their commercial potential and help the Council in supporting the community and businesses as we move positively into a post-COVID environment.

Areas you could apply your skills range from Economic Regeneration, Leisure Services or Commercial Properties as well as forward planning in relation to national initiatives such as business rates reform.

We are looking for an individual with the drive and determination to succeed and the ability to maximise both your talent and that of the team, at a Council that values and invests in staff skills and wellbeing.

This is a great opportunity to develop your skills and career. Our package includes:

  • reduced membership fees of the onsite leisure centre;
  • free car parking;
  • varied working hours and remote-working opportunities;
  • an opportunity to further your career with a high performing forward looking Authority with training to support CPD and personal development;
  • Local Government pension scheme; and
  • relocation package available for the right candidate.

Rushcliffe Borough Council supports flexible and part-time working in line with the needs of the public that we serve and the business needs of the Council.

We believe that embracing flexibility is a smart way of working and even more relevant given increased remote working as a result of COVID and ensures we can find and support the mix of talent and experience we need.
