Essex Outdoors are recruiting for several Catering Assistants to join their team for 2021. Positions will be starting mid-May, up until late July, with potential to continue through to August, paying £9.48 per hour.

Please note that these positions are being offered on a temporary basis and are based at Rewsalls Lane, Mersea Island, CO5 8SX.

The Role

Working on one of our very busy sites and as part of a team, you will assist Chefs and Cooks in providing three great choice and quality meals a day for up to 250 residential visitors.

You will be working with a friendly team of people, in an environment that's fast paced and full of energy.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for basic food preparation
  • Washing up, using a fully automated machine and cleaning some larger cooking items by hand
  • To ensure that cleanliness is maintained within the facilities and are adequately stocked
  • To maintain a high standard of personal and general cleanliness and hygiene to comply with statutory regulations
  • To use powered cleaning and catering equipment in accordance with the relevant safety requirements

Please note that Essex County Council has determined that the off-payroll working rules will apply to this assignment and where a worker elects to provide their services through an intermediary (such as a personal services company) then income tax and primary national insurance contributions will be deducted at source from any payments made to the intermediary.

As part of employment with Essex County Council should your role require a DBS check you will be required to register with the DBS update service. The DBS update service ensures all registered DBS certificates are kept up to date and allows authorised parties to view the status of your certificate.
