Following the retirement of the current post holder, an opportunity has arisen to lead and develop the Exeter and Exmouth Neighbourhood Highway Team in the delivery of an effective Highway Service.

At a time of exciting and significant change within the service, the successful candidate will manage the local highway maintenance programme and project delivery, as well as co-ordinating the local response to winter and emergency events.

The role will require liaison with local Elected Members, Councils Community Groups and members of the public, as programmes of works and priorities are balanced to meet available budgets, local needs and asset conditions.

Educated to degree level, or equivalent, the successful candidate will have wide ranging experience leading a multidisciplinary team in a highways environment and will possess excellent communication, problem solving and organisation skills.
