Make a difference in Community Protection for Brent Council

The Post

Operation of the Borough Control Room is required for 7 days a week and for ensuring that resources are deployed to facilitate effective service delivery. We need support for the Council’s civil contingencies arrangements and to assist as necessary in times of urgency.

To operate the Council’s Closed Circuit Television systems, and ensure delivery of an effective CCTV service and to co-operate with outside agencies in relation to CCTV information and evidence, in line with Data Protection and Human Rights legislation.

Ensuring the integrity, accuracy and confidentiality of all information gained is secure at all times by compliance with appropriate legislation (such as the Data Protection Act 2018) and the Council's CCTV code of practice, and in line with ICO and SCC code of practice.

The Person

Experience in the Control Room environment is essential, preferably with emergency services or with another Local authority. Trained to BTEC level 2 Public surveillance with a current SIA licence.

The post holder will work on their own and on a shift pattern covering 7 days a week of extended hours. We are looking for someone who is calm and able to manage their own work and prioritise activities depending on needs of the service.
