Salary: Locations: County Hall, Northallerton/ Ryedale District Council Malton - this role can be homeworking with an expectation to work from County Hall or Malton on occasions.
Contract: Fixed Term – up to 9 months
Hours: 37hrs per week
We are looking for a Solicitor/Barrister/Legal Executive with qualified experience in property law to join our team to provide maternity cover. The ideal candidate will be a confident team player who is a quick learner. You will have a fine eye for detail and thrive in a fast-paced environment with a dynamic and varied workload.
To be successful you must:
- Hold a qualification as a Lawyer, Barrister or FILEX;
- Demonstrate knowledge of property law ;
- Be aware of the political structure and functions of the Council;
- Have the ability to communicate effectively in writing to produce documents in a range of formats and style to suit a range of audiences and produce a representative record of meeting discussion and actions;
- Have an ability to interact positively with colleagues, clients and elected Members.
Knowledge or experience of working in Local Authority is advantageous but not essential, we would welcome applications from the private sector.
