Salary

About Us: Lead the way forward through ambitious capital projects.

In Kensington and Chelsea, we are committed to investing in and delivering major capital projects to help our communities to thrive after the challenges of the past 12 months, including the pandemic. Join our Social Investment and Property team as a Senior Project Manager, and you will play a pivotal role in the delivery of a range of ambitious capital projects, from new homes through to schools and leisure facilities. It’s a fantastic opportunity to undertake interesting, multidimensional projects within a high profile council that offers huge scope for you to further your personal and professional development.

The Role: You will take lead responsibility for the successful project management and delivery of a number of high value capital projects, ensuring they’re delivered on time, on budget and in line with our high quality standards. That is going to involve liaising with the technical lead on the planned maintenance programme to create sustainable long-term solutions as well as managing an Assistant Project Manager and external consultants. You will also need to work closely with diverse stakeholders, including colleagues from across the council and the local community. Across everything you do, you will embed best practice, implement fully integrated approaches to property and building projects, and oversee SLAs and KPIs from start to finish.

Please refer to the Job Description for more information.

About You: With a property-related degree, a relevant professional qualification or membership, and significant project management experience (a qualification like PRINCE2 would be ideal), you will have the technical skills it takes to deliver complex capital projects. Your knowledge should encompass procurement, law and finance, and you’ll be committed to delivering the kind of value that will directly lead to better results and even stronger communities. We are looking for a proactive thinker, natural problem solver and highly skilled communicator who understands the dynamics and politics of local government – you are someone who can build trusting relationships quickly and effectively.

Please apply online and specify on your application how you meet the skills, knowledge and qualities specified in the job description and person specification.
