The Role

We are looking to appoint a specialist Housing OT to provide support, advice and assistance across Housing Services.

The post holder will be based in the HIA Team responsible for providing aids and adaptions across Richmond and Wandsworth. You will assume line management responsibility for the trusted assessors and junior surveyors and work across the Housing Assessment, Housing Allocations and HIA services to support the delivery of housing needs assessment and housing allocations services for applicants with a disability.

You will work closely with Senior Surveyors providing advice and assistance on complex cases, including overseeing major void projects where properties are adapted to meet the specific needs of individuals. You will provide specialist advice to officers allocating social housing to applicants with a disability and will make recommendations for additional aids and adaptations as necessary. You will also be required to research the market for new products as they become available and make recommendations for use.

We recognise the importance of a good balance between work and home life so we do everything we can to accommodate flexible working including, working from home, compressed or part-time hours, term time only, job shares and other arrangements. Please just let us know in your application or at any stage throughout the process (and beyond) if these are options you’d like to explore. We also offer a generous holiday allowance of 39 paid days (pro rata) including bank holidays and a wide range of learning and development opportunities.

In addition, we offer a comprehensive range of staff benefits such as membership of the Local Government pension scheme, childcare vouchers, new technology scheme, interest-free loans on annual travel cards, discounts with many leisure activities, restaurants, shops and other establishments.
