As Financial Support Officer, you will be responsible for the delivery of outstanding services to clients; establishing strong relationships with clients, and ensuring delivery of a value added service.  You will be supporting clients with day-to-day financial or school business management tasks, budget setting and monitoring, monthly reconciliations, attending governor/trustee meetings, financial forecasting, benchmarking, etc. You will also have the opportunity to apply for SRMA accreditation, if you are not already accredited.

To be successful you must:

  • Hold full membership of AAT and/or equivalent relevant qualification;
  • Have experience in financial management and the provision of financial support and in depth knowledge of budget preparation, management and monitoring;
  • Have experience of meeting targets and delivering high quality customer service levels;
  • Have the ability to meet targets and produce accurate high quality work as well as have the ability to interpret and analyse financial and non-financial information and to advise on, and make recommendations for improvement where necessary
  • Be able to display excellent communication skills, both written and oral, and good interpersonal skills

The role operates from home as the work base and may involve travel to visit school and academy clients across North Yorkshire and its surrounding regions. The job may also involve some evening work with attendance at governor meetings and local authority convened meetings.   Typically the role is term time only plus one week, full or part time, although this is negotiable.

In return for your hard work and dedication to our service, we can offer you the chance to be part of a strong and supportive team. You will also benefit from a variety of competitive employee rewards such as local government pension scheme, retail discounts and access to green car scheme which is just one of a range of salary sacrifice schemes available.
